Primavera School provides an inviting and serene early childhood and elementary program in a beautiful, safe natural environment that is peaceful to the mind and eye. The school was established in 1972, and our mission is as relevant today as it was at that time: preparing children for the future as life-long learners by encouraging high academic standards across a progressive, developmentally appropriate curriculum. The sense of community at Primavera School enables our students and their families to share a passion for learning, maintain a positive attitude about education and the future, and demonstrate the importance of educating the “whole” child. All children deserve to be healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged, and at Primavera, our teachers are committed to making sure that all of our students grow up feeling this way. |
Small class size allows teachers to focus on individual learning styles and to meaningfully interact with their students and families. Our staff encourages each child’s natural desire to learn by providing structure, encouragement, and success. Social and emotional development is fueled by close personal relationships which characterize the school community and allow children to feel connected. The end result is a group of children who realize their potential, love school, value their community, treasure their friendships, and respect their environment. |

Our classrooms are grouped according to age and ability. They include Preschool (age 3-4), Pre-Kindergarten (age 4-5), Kindergarten (age 5-6), and our 1st through 5th graders (age 6-11). Some of our primary classes are self-contained, and some are multi-aged depending on enrollment. We maintain a maximum student/teacher ratio of 10:1 in the preschool/pre-kindergarten, and 15:1 in our primary grades.
Because we value the “whole” child at Primavera, we integrate the arts, physical education, computers, music, and the teaching of foreign languages into our curriculum at all grade levels. Primavera students are involved in many off-campus activities and field trips beginning in Kindergarten. With regular trips to the library, YMCA, swimming, Yavapai College, Prescott Fine Arts, and places of interest in and around Prescott and Arizona, we enrich our students’ learning experience.
Primavera also offers a summer session and enrichment intersessions in the fall and spring in conjunction with our modified year-round elementary program. Elementary students may also stay in our afterschool program until 5:30 p.m. These innovative programs are designed to provide an engaging, relaxed, and diverse experience for children.
