Orme Primavera Schools Foundation
The Arizona State Tax Credit initiative that began in 1999 is an opportunity for Arizona taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for a donation to a private school. The dollars received each year from the private school tax credit must be used to provide scholarships for deserving students.
The Orme School in Mayer, Arizona joined forces with Primavera School to form a school tuition organization—the Orme Primavera Schools Foundation—to accept these tax credit donations on behalf of the two private schools. Last year, the Orme Primavera Schools Foundation raised approximately $200,000 from the state tax credit to fund scholarship assistance to 34 students at Primavera School and to 17 students at the Orme School.
Married couples filing jointly may contribute up to $1,000 and single taxpayers may donate up to $500. You must make your donation by December 31st to receive the Arizona tax credit and the Federal tax deduction for the current year. However, the state allows you to make the tax credit donation to private schools up until April 15th for the state tax credit on the previous year’s tax return.
You will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit in the form of a refund or a credit toward the taxes you owe the state. You will also be able to itemize your donation as a tax deduction for a charitable contribution on your federal tax return.
It costs you nothing, and gives you a say in how your tax dollars are being spent.
With the recession everywhere you turn, it is critical that Primavera School maintain its level of scholarship assistance for deserving students! Without your help, we will not be able to help as many students as we would like to in the future.

As a teacher, I have limited income, but wish to provide my children with the best possible elementary education. My son and daughter are “voices” that can be heard at Primavera and not lost in a public school setting. I hope that they both can continue to grow and learn at Primavera with the assistance we receive from the Orme Primavera Schools scholarship money.”

A School Tuition Organization cannot award, restrict, or reserve scholarships solely on the basis of donor recommendation. A taxpayer may not claim a tax credit if the taxpayer agrees to swap donations with another taxpayer to benefit either taxpayer’s own dependent.
