Current Updates on Graduates


Caroline Dixon and Zachary Shuter, current 6th graders at Prescott Mile High Middle School, won the Geography Bee for the whole school in December, 2011!

Jackson Dicker, 6th grader at Prescott Mile High Middle School, won the Spelling Bee in January, 2012 and will represent his school in the Yavapai County Spelling Bee in February!

Andrew Scott, is a 6th grader at All Saints Episcopal School in Phoenix where he is on the Honor Roll and plays on a competitive basketball team in the Valley called “The Eagles.” He plays the trumpet and enjoys theater as well as music. Andrew keeps in touch with several friends he made at Primavera and his mom and dad still keep in touch with the families that have become life-long friends!

Sarah Scott is a junior at Notre Dame Preparatory High School and has made Honor Roll every semester. The exposure to the arts, art galleries, and hands=on art classes at Primavera inspired a passion for the fine arts in Sarah! She spent 2 weeks at UCLA art institute this past summer and is attending Parsons Art School in NYC this coming summer. She went to Italy, France, and Switzerland last summer and felt comfortable with the languages and cultures of each country, again showing an appreciation for those early years of foreign language at Primavera!

Conor Hand-Olson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tri-City College Prep High School in May, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has recently started his own music recording business. He is involved with volunteer work, RYLA (Rotary)Leadership, Lion’s Club, and playing and performing with his band. He will attend college next year at Santa Fe University of Art and Design on a full music scholarship!

Dylan H. Drenk is serving an internship with the International Criminal Court in the Hague and has received a full scholarship to Maastricht University to earn a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology! He speaks 4 languages fluently and attributes his success to those early language classes at Primavera! His older brother, Dustin Drenk, is in the Performing Master’s program at the University of Chicago!

Lana Chapman is working as a Respiratory Therapist at a hospital in Mesa, and she is a manufacturer’s representative in the sales of respiratory equipment. She plays softball and volleyball for fun.

Charles Trahern, graduated from Primavera 5th grade in 1999, and attended The Orme School, graduating Cum Laude in 2006. From there he attended Santa Clara University, graduating in 2010 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently a Quality Inspector with Bloom Energy.

John Weatherbee teaches fire science for a community college system in Kentucky. He attended Primavera around 1977-79 and thanks Primavera for teaching him to read and do math while having fun. He left with the confidence and knowledge that he could do whatever he wanted, and so he did!

Laura Joy Carlson-Barr graduated from the University of Montana in 2007, went on to work for Americorps, met her husband, and now lives in San Diego, California.

Jesse Rojko graduated from ASU, majoring in business management. He hopes to one day become a corporate lawyer. One of his friends from Primavera, Taylor Brennan, is still his best friend!

Nathan Wasserman graduated from NAU in May with a B.S. in Forestry and certification in Wildland Fire Management & Ecology. He works for the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest near Clifton, AZ. 2012

Claire Wasserman graduated with honors from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon in May with a degree in French Studies, Political Economy, and Religious Studies. She is teaching English in the Orleans-Tours Academie in France for a year with plans to move to the Middle East to study Arabic. 2012

Shane Rusing graduated from the University of Arizona in May, 2011, with a B.S. in Anthropology and Evolutionary Biology.

Rudy Kwiatkowski won the “William E. Holiday Award” given each year to a special 8th grade student who has shown outstanding scholarship achievement (straight A’s for 3 years) as well as service to the school and community and has shown an evident love of PMHMS.

Veronica Norkus won the Outstanding 8th Grade Mathematics Student award and achieved straight A’s in her three years at PMHMS.

Raphael Temple won the Outstanding Athlete award and achieved straight A’s in her three years at PMHMS.

Elliot Beck, Bailee Petrovsky, Coal Carson, & Blake Johnson, all recent 8th grade graduates of PMHMS, were recognized for their academic achievement by achieving straight A’s for three years.
